About The Centre for Systems Integration

Welcome

Seeds Canada dba Centre for Systems Integration (CSI) is a not-for-profit organization. Through our clients services division, we provide a number of agricultural audit, inspection, and certification services including organic certification.  Our operating revenue to run our client services is derived from the fees assessed for the services.  The organic client service fees are published in our Organic Certification Policy Manual. 

CSI offers a variety of services, including:

  • Organic certification under the Canadian Organic Regime and the various equivalency arrangements negotiated by CFIA
  • CIPRS, CIPRS plus HACCP and CGC HACCP certification with the Canadian Grain Commission’s (CGC) identity preservation and food safety programs
  • Phytosanitary certification with the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute’s (CNCI) Clean Plants programs
  • Special label claims verification upon request

Mission

“To provide cost-effective development, implementation, and conformity assessment of quality management systems to the standards of agricultural and plant product clients on a national basis.”

Accreditations

  • Accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) as a “Conformity Verification Body” for the assessment activities in support of the CFIA seed and plant health programs
  • Accredited by the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) as a “Service Provider” to the Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS) and HACCP programs for conducting audits
  • Accredited by CFIA as a certification body under the Canadian Organic Regime
  • Accredited by IOAS:  Seeds Canada dba Centre for Systems Integration (CSI) is accredited by IOAS for the scope of product certification, accreditation number 118. Please refer to www.ioas.org/accreditation/accredited-bodies/ for current information. This accreditation allows CSI to deliver its organic certification services under the Canada Organic Regime and includes CSI's ISO accreditation, ISO/IEC 17065:2012 - Conformity Assessment - Requirements for Bodies Certifying Products, Processes and Services.
