Welcome to the Centre for Systems Integration, a division of the Canadian Seed Institute. Here you will find all the information you need about the programs CSI offers in addition to the seed program available through the Canadian Seed Institute.
CSI, doing business as the Centre for Systems Integration, offers a variety of services, including:
- Organic certification providing CSI clients with access to Canadian, U.S., European and Japanese organic markets
- CIPRS and CIPRS plus HACCP certification with the Canadian Grain Commission’s (CGC) identity preservation and food safety programs
- Phytosanitary certification with the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute’s (CNCI) Clean Plants programs
As an independent, not-for-profit organization, CSI is able to offer multiple programs and services that are compatible so that multiple audits or inspections can be coordinated during a single visit.
Mission
CSI’s strives to simplify the certification and accreditation processes for its clients by offering the expertise to integrate clients’ programs into one quality management system that can be audited or inspected on a single visit.
Our mission:
“To provide cost-effective development, implementation, and conformity assessment of quality management systems to the standards of agricultural and plant product clients on a national basis.”
Accreditations
In an effort to fulfill our mission CSI has sought and received multiple accreditations.
- Accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) as a “Conformity Verification Body” for the assessment activities in support of the CFIA seed and plant health programs
- Accredited by the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) as a “Service Provider” to the Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System (CIPRS) and HACCP programs for conducting audits
- Accredited by Detusche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkks) to ISO Guide 65 as a certification body to the Canada Organic Standard equivalent to the U.S. National Organic Program (NOP) and equivalent to the European Union Organic Regulation (EC)
- Accredited by the Japan Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries as a Registered Overseas Certifying Body (ROCB) for JAS Organic
