Registration Open for New Grader Training in Edmonton

Training Location and Time 
Registration is now open for new grader candidates. The session will take place on Tuesday, March 21st and Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, with the option to write the CFIA grader practical exam on the morning of Thursday, March 23rd. This in-person training will take place in the Emerald-Lakeview event space at the Hampton Inn by Hilton Sherwood Park, 950 Emerald Dr, Sherwood Park AB T8H 0W6, 1-780-449-1609.

Seeds Canada Amalgamation - Correcting Misinformation

On November 4th, the CSI Board voted to endorse the new Seeds Canada business plan and ratification package and enter into an agreement to amalgamate with three seed associations, the Commercial Seed Analysts Association of Canada (CSAAC), the Canadian Seed Trade Association (CSTA), and the Canadian Plant Technology Agency (CPTA).  The decision to support the package is the culmination of six years of discussions that started with an idea and that grew in

CSI Starting to Audit Again - COVID-19 Update

We hope this finds you healthy and coping well with the changes we are all experiencing these days. We have instructed the CSI auditors that they may begin conducting on-site audits again if both you and the auditor are comfortable with an on-site visit. If you are not comfortable with an in-person visit from an auditor, you may be eligible for a remote audit. Please contact your auditor to discuss your options.

Le point sur la réponse de l’ICS à la COVID-19

Bien que la propagation de la COVID-19 semble se stabiliser et que l’environnement général semble s’améliorer, nous ne voulons pas décider trop rapidement de poursuivre nos vérifications sur place. La santé et la sécurité de nos clients, de nos vérificateurs et de notre personnel sont nos grandes priorités. Par conséquent, l’ICS poursuit la suspension de toutes les vérifications sur place pendant quelque temps encore.

Update on CSI's Response to COVID-19 - Seed Program

While the spread of COVID-19 in Canada seems to be stabilizing and the general environment seems to be improving, we do not want to be hasty in our decision to continue with our on-site audits.  The health and safety our clients, auditors and staff are our top priorities.  So, CSI will continue to suspend all on-site audit activities a little while longer.
